Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 2023, the population in Indonesia has reached 273.5 million people and is expected to increase to 285 million people in 2030. With the continuous increase in the number of population, basic needs, especially food, are a vital part that must be met. However, uncertain climate change and depletion of agricultural land might lead to a decrease in food supplies, causing a crisis and increasing the risk of food insecurity. Therefore, innovation and ideas for change are needed to create sustainable food production in order to guarantee the health and rights of the nation’s future generations.

The existence of more diverse and high quality food sources from food innovations can be a solution to food shortages. Food innovation needs to be supported with the development of technology that is environmentally friendly, advanced, and efficient. Apart from that, public awareness and changes in consumer behavior regarding selecting and purchasing sustainable food can also be achieved through this innovative collaboration.
